For many of us, painting, cooking, gardening and the cinema are just disciplines or trades that enable us to work professionally. But for one group of unique people, learning a craft or unleashing the artistic ability they have within them can be the seed for change in their lives. It may be the final piece that lets them find their place in society.
Yes, there are unique people who live with Asperger’s syndrome every day. We believe that those people have great potential, and we want to help them stand out in their own right. And art and crafts can be the driving force that helps them move forward, the friend who listens and understands them, the teacher who helps them excel.
And at UNIX we want to be the lever – we want to be the bridge that enables everyone to develop their potential. That is why we have created a foundation, which was established to provide a space for creating a symbiosis between education and leisure – two pillars that can help them make the transition to adult life with confidence and peace of mind.
Education, backed by a team of specialised professionals, will help them to develop their personality, and acquire the habits and knowledge they need for everyday life. And it also lets them learn about some of the trades that will enable them to be self-sufficient and become independent, such as gardening, cultivating a vegetable garden, cooking or an artistic discipline.
Leisure, which is important for all of us and essential for these unique people, will have a major role to play in UNIX. We will offer them quality leisure time in an environment where nature plays a key role and where animals become wise companions to offer them well-being. In this context, relationships with other people flow smoothly and harmonious coexistence is possible.
The UNIX project is located at Mas SerraRica, because we believe that it meets all the conditions that allow everything to flow, as it is a house originally dating back to the eleventh century, located in the middle of nature.
The UNIX Foundation is just getting started, and we want it to reach everyone who might be interested. If you know someone who is unique in this way, get in touch with us and we’ll tell you about our project. We want to meet UNIX people.
